The seminar is aimed at all breeders, stud dog owners and those interested in breeding and offers a thorough introduction to the breeding of Wolfdogs and Wolfalikes. The aim of this basic seminar is to provide you with the necessary knowledge to be able to breed responsibly and carefully. At about three hours long, the seminar is the longest seminar we have, but it also covers a wide range of important topics.

We start with an insight into the basics of genetics. Not only do we shed light on how inheritance works in principle, but we also discuss which genetic terms are relevant for breeding and what they mean. In addition, we will focus on the role that the selection of breeding animals plays and what exactly epigenetics is.

The next part of the seminar is an insight into the cornerstones of a breeding approval. We will give you a brief but comprehensive overview of the health requirements a dog must meet to be accepted into breeding and why this is the case. In addition, we will go into detail about the course of a heat cycle and a mating act. You will learn what to pay particular attention to during this sensitive phase to ensure a successful and pleasant mating for the dogs.

After that, we will discuss pregnancy and the birth of a puppy. We will go through the individual phases of pregnancy, discuss the meaning and function of the various hormones, and show you different ways to optimally support your female dog during this time. Since breeding is never without risk, we will also discuss this and explain how you can prepare for it.

Particular focus is also placed on the rearing and socialisation of your puppies. You will learn about the developmental stages that a puppy goes through and what you should pay particular attention to in each stage. We not only talk about basic socialisation, but also about targeted exercises and ways to make puppies stress-resistant and open to new situations. Medical care and nutrition of the mother dog and puppies also play a role here.

The seminar is rounded off with insights into the legal aspects of dog breeding. You will get an overview of the most important laws that you as a breeder must observe and learn about the legal obligations that come with breeding. You will learn about different types of contracts and the pros and cons of considerations such as co-ownership.

After this comprehensive seminar, you will not only be able to understand and master the essential steps of breeding planning, but you will also develop a deeper understanding of what it means to breed responsibly. Since the seminar covers so much content, there is a short quiz at the end where you can test your new knowledge and clarify any questions you may have.
