Wolvenwoods – “Where the forest breathes and family begins.”

Hi, welcome to Wolvenwoods! My name is Tess, and I’m so happy that you’ve found your way to this page. Together with my family of four and our wolfdog Tala, we form Wolvenwoods– an at home occasional kennel of wolfdogs.
We are located in the north of Antwerp, and we love to pass through the love and adventure we share with our wolfdog.

Our Motivation

Honestly, I was always a cat person, until I met my partner 12 years ago and he teached me the love for dogs. We wanted to start a family with some furry friends so we welcomed two cats and started searching for a dog breed that suited us. Since I have always been fascinated by nature, wild animals (so yeah , wolves!), we wanted a breed that stood just a little closer to nature. After some meet-ups we had our hearts set on a low-content wolfdog. In 2020, we completed our furry family – Tala joined us!
Tala isn’t just my absolute favorite dog, she’s also the inspiration and core of our kennel. Her character has taught us so much, and it’s exactly this valuable experience that we want to share with future wolfdog owners.
Although we were well prepared and talked to wolfdog owners over the years, Tala still had some surprises for us. She showed us the importance of loving and targeted support, and how we can achieve things together with patience and calmness.
That’s why I place great importance on education, proper socialization, and individualized upbringing, giving both owners and puppies the best possible foundation for a happy and fulfilling life. This very motivation is also why I became a member of the EWA (European Wolfdog and Wolfalike Association).

Breeding Philosophy

My breeding philosophy is based on clear principles that are especially close to my heart.

Health: All breeding dogs are tested according to EWA breeding regulations — and, if necessary, beyond that. I also conduct thorough pedigree research to minimize potential health risks. For me, it’s essential to personally meet every potential stud dog in advance.

Stable Temperament: My goal is to breed dogs that retain the typical wolfdog character while being compatible with family life and able to accompany their owners joyfully on hikes and adventures in nature.

Thoughtful Decisions: Every pairing is planned carefully and with passion. I firmly believe that every decision made in breeding — positive or negative — must be well thought out and justified.

Puppy Rearing at Wolvenwoods

Our puppies grow up right in the heart of family life – from the very beginning, they’re part of our household. Their daily routine is adapted to their age and individual needs.

Socialization: Comprehensive socialization is particularly important to me! The puppies get used to everyday sounds like the vacuum cleaner, dishwasher, playing kids and more. They meet a variety of people, our cats and other dogs, and gain experience with car rides, first walks on a leash, and visits to the vet.

Targeted Stimulation: Through excursions to new environments, contact with other animals, and visits to busier places, the puppies are exposed to many exciting experiences. I also use techniques from programs such as Puppy Culture to promote their development in a positive way. They are introduced to different sounds, scents, and sensory experiences as part of their early enrichment.

Best Possible Care: We place great value on a balanced and high-quality diet for both the mother during pregnancy and the puppies during their first weeks of life. From the first ultrasound onward, Tala and the puppies receive close veterinary care and monitoring.

For me, breeding means responsibility — not only towards the dogs, but also towards the people who will share their lives with them.

Before any puppy is being assigned to you, it’s very important to me that we get to know each other personally. This way, we can find out whether we’re a good match and whether Tala also captures your heart in real life.
Through my network of friends and acquaintances, I can also connect you with other wolfdog owners so you can gain a well-rounded impression and honest insights.
It’s particularly important to me to support our puppies and their families long-term. As a puppy owner, you can always count on me throughout your dog’s life — whether you have questions about training, nutrition, or unexpected challenges.
Openness and honesty are values I deeply care about, because only through transparent communication can we find the best solutions together. Every experience is a chance to learn, and I’m always here for you.
